Palau Accommodation and prices

If I take a hotel in Koror, is there a possibility to swim and snorkel just near Koror without taking a snorkeling tour ?
What are prices in Palau, for example in restaurants and supermarkets?
Is diving in Palau also for beginners (for example in Blue corner) ?

Hi

've been in Plau in the beginning of January..
On Koror ig youn means just Koror island thereis no snorekelling at all.

If you mean Koror state, to which belong beside koror is. as well nearby is. Arakebsang and is. Malokal connected via short bridges (you can even not notice that you're already on another island) ,then there are:
- some reef infront of Palau Pacific Hotel - actaully this is the only beach that can be regarded as such (that just 300m long ) in Koror state, to use it you've to pay 25 USd for the hotel;
- at malokal near Icebox there is snorekliing spopt, but the shore there lack teh beach and in general there is marine and port near by , so asfor me taht lacks attractiveness.

I read taht some diving companies provides some diving for beginners, you ahve to investigate that.

I went to rather upscale Dragon Tei reatuarnt , that is classical japanese one, with dispaly kitchen and ttami, I ended up for three course incl. soft drink and tip with 25 USD. Surely you can spend there more.

dunno if this is still relevant to you...

If you want nice snorkling, no way. Then you need to book it with the dive centers, fish'n fins or better yet, sam's tours.

Palau is EXPENSIVE, in my book at least. a few hotels is about 60$ (e.g. Lehns Motel) but most is high-end at several 100$/night.

Food can be found affordable, but majority is maybe 20$/meal

Im sure the dive centers will arrange diving for you as beginners, im not sure about the blue corner, it seems to me to be a site for more trained divers, big waves passing above pulling you about, loads of sharks, drop-off to bottomless ocean 5 meters away. but maybe they can arrange a nice route for you.

I have pictures online if interested.
