The choice is between KC Grand Resort in White Sands beach, or Siam Beach resort in Lonley Beach.....?? Help!
I have been studying Koh Chang, and have narrowed down these two spots...KC is in white sands, is it really that noisy and crowded on that beach??,,,,,or is Siam on Lonely beach, or too quiet down there? My friend and I are not into the party scene,but like to go out for a drink and mingle, and we like to be around some people with choices of restaurants and things to do...would apperciate any feedback from ones who have been or live there...thanks so much!!
Oh by the way , we are going the 3rd week in february if that helps or makes a difference!

White Sands beach is the best.., but crowded... lonely beach is quite good as well... so is your mentioned resort...for more detail info about Koh Chang please read this website http://www.iamkohchang.com/

I don't think white sand is very crowded. It is nth like the main beaches on Ko Samui or Phuket. but relatively speaking, there are for sure more people than Lonely Beach. In terms of shops, restaurants and services, you'll find more selections in White Sand Beach.

We stayed at the Treehouse on Lonely Beach. Everyone said that White Sands is way too crowded and touristy, and Lonely Beach quiet and peaceful. Although Lonely seemed to be a lot mellower than White Sands (we passed through W.S. on the way) it is by no means quiet. There are still heaps of people, cafes, bars and places to stay. I7d say it's a nice middle ground. Personally, I found the Treehouse though to be a bit over-rated. The bungalows, while cheap, are a bit run down, the staff can be stand-offish verging on rude, and they overcharged us by one night and refused to accept our side of the story. To top it off, it is VERY noisy. With loud music and people shouting until 6 in the morning two of the three nights we were there, we hardly slept. We ended up moving up the hill to a place called the Oasis, which is only 50 baht more, but has bungalows which are about ten times nicer than the treehouse and come with their own shower and (western-style!) toilet. If dancing til dawn and sleeping all day is your scene, you'd probably dig the treehouse. If you stay at the Oasis though, it's only five minutes walk away, and way nicer and quieter. As most reviews suggest, the food at the treehouse is pretty good though.

Thanks for all the tips...I will check out Oasis, seems like that place is getting good feedback. Has anyone heard of , or been by Remark Cottage Resort in White Sands? The cottages look nice and unique, but I cant find a review? Thanks again for the help!

Does anyone know if the Oasis has a website to book? Or can you go thru another booking site to make a reservation? I have been finding that alot of these places are already full...:-( Thanks....

Please do take note that OASIS is not at star hotel or what so ever. Its simply an budget kind oh hut. But I like it in its artistic uniquness. The couple are well Artistic people. Even I like their food. I payed around 250/-THB per day for the room rental. Attached open roof bathroom. Feel more close to nature during my stay there. Even rented motor bike from them for 250/-THB per day. But some bikes rental at White Sands can come for around 150/-TYB per day.

Last time I had emailed to them. As they check emails once in a while, but did get respone. So I also used to call them by phone to make sure they reserved room for me. Quite co-operative I did find. I noticed just now that they dont have any contact details on their website and its modified as well. I do have their visiting cards at my home. Will post it here tomorrow. Also noticed now on their website the price is 300/-THB maybe due to peak season...

Thanks for the info..I would like to stay somewhere different, unique. Do they have electricity? How about plugs in the room/bathroom, for hairdyers, charging things? I apperciate the feedback! Thanks!

They do have electricity. Orange lamp bulbs.. not flurscent tubes... fan.. have plus in the room where i had used to charge my mobile... in the bathroom I dont think have any plug sockets...

Did you find that the fan was was enough to keep you cool? I have not been to koh chang, but i have been to Koh Samui, and it was the same time of year, and it was HOT!!! :-)

I had never beem to Koh Chang during this time of the year. I had only been there during April middle. For my body in the night I feel it was okay. And during day time I was always outdoor. I rather suggest you a better different hotel for all your better needs...
