Lord Howe Island Travel Forum

Hi, I've been considering a trip to Lord Howe Island for ages and was wondering what would be the best time of year to go and for what duration to get the most out sightseeing with some chill out time (goes without saying) as well.

Lord Howe is certainly a great place to holiday. it is located a few hours east of port macquarie and enjoys a good climate most of the year. Summer is probably best for many activities (which is approx november to february) but you will find march and April good months also. The island has restrictions on visitor numbers ( around 400)as per accommodation controls and this may be a limiting factor as to when you can go.
It does not take too many days for actual sightseeing, but with the various available activities and "chill out" time then a week is a good length of time to stay in such a beautiful place.
