We are getting married in Maz in May 2006. We already have our reservations at a timeshare at Costa De Oro where we've stayed many times. We have approximately 30 friends/family members coming down with us. We are looking for a wedding planner/coordinator if anybody knows one? Or any other ideas on where/how to have a very simple, casual, beach wedding. Most things I find so far online are wedding packages where you have to be staying at that particular resort. There is very little actual information as to wedding packages etc. and we have gotten little to no response online from several hotel planners. I saw one person's wedding album online where they got married at a casual beachside restaurant that we love 'Chilis Pepper" and that would work for us also, but no idea how to go about planning it.....We are open to ANY ideas. Names or numbers we could contact of planners? Hellllp! :)

I got married in mazatlan in march 2005. We had booked at the el cid marina so I called them to ask if anyone at the hotel could help. They put me in contact with a woman named Sylvia who worked at the el cid el moro. I called her once on the phone and then we did all correspondence through e-mail. She was extremenly helpful. We were married at the el cid el moro right on the beach. They have this perfect little garden area right by the sand. They set up all the chairs and linens and the price was like 180.00 usd. we planned to have a 5pm wedding and then we reserved the tables for their happy hour. They have two for the price of one drinks for happy hour. We got our cakes at Panamas and it was delicious marshmallow frosting. We didn't really know what we were ordering but it all worked out great. they gave us two beautiful cakes for $35.00. we had 35 people there and our whole happy hour bill was under 150.00. We tipped Sylvia about $150.00. we spent like a total of maybe 500. Sylvia did all the planning. She sent by e-mail all of the required paperwork and I had sent her all the necessary information ahead of time so it was absolutely no hassle. I had a friend who went to puerto vallart athis past august and had a weeding planned through their hotel and it was over 4000. Good luck . If you have anymore questions Id be happy to help.

Your information was very helpful. The kind of wedding you had/described sounds exactly like what we are looking for, right down to the cakes from Panama's. Do you happen to recall Sylvia's full name and phone number so that w can contact her? or her email address? Also, do you have to be staying at El Cid Moro to have your wedding there? We already have reservations paid for at Costa De Oro.....Thanks for your help.
