Good morning,
I have a quick question to ask..I recently visited Ilha Grande, RJ and absolutely loved it. Anyone who is interested in going it is worth the trip. I only spent 4 days there but it was worth it. If you have any questions i can help you. Whislt on the island, i met many people who all gave me their phone numbers. I am wondering would these numbers be mobiles or landlines? The reason i am asking is that i would like to send them a text as my Portugese is limited. Please advise. Obrigada, TG 11 |

And if it starts with 3, it's usually a land line.

Hi TorontoGirl! I am from Toronto as well! I plan on spending a couple nights on Ihla Grande in April.....can you recommend a nice, reasonably priced pousada to stay at?

Hello Fellow Toronto-ian,
Things on Illha Grande is great !!! I was part of a GAP adventure tour group that all started in Rio and we ventured south to Argentina- Buenos Aires over a 21 day tour. Illha Grande by far was my favourite experience as i really enjoyed the food, the people and most of all the beaches.It is a very quaint island with loads of time to relax and enjoy the tranquil nights it has to offer. There are 2 bars on the island but that is all you need. We stayed at the Pousada Mata Nativa which offered basic accomodations and breakfast. I liked it as our cabanas reminded me of a YOGA resort. This was considered a simple hotel but it was very nice. You can contact them @ 21-3364-4888 . Please go to Illha Grande and go to Lopes Mendes and Lagoo Azul as they are as perfect as the country of Brazil. Enjoy, TG 11
