Can anyone let me know how much it is likely to cost to transport a family of five in July/August to/from Kalo Horio from Heraklion Airport? Thanks.

What time are you landing? Is it imperative to get a taxi as Kalo Horio is on quite a few bus routes.

It is about 2 hours drive so think about 70-100 Euro + tip. I would rent Hyundai Accent for five. It is large (large trunk) for you fimily and your bags, and gives you freedom if you don't like your beach or the town you are in. It will cost you about 200 Euro per week, and since you will probably have to pay 200 Euro for your taxi ( you need a van 5+driver) that is really good deal. You would be surprised, sometimes 10 min drive from your hotel is beach much nicer than the one ot front of it. Also Kalo Horio is far away from the beach, so you will have to use some kinds of weels to get there.
