Ancona Travel Forum

Hi can anyone help.

We are going to Ancona for weekend break, I know you can get the train or the bus to Ancona and seems that there is quite a few on the Friday afternoon when we arrive. I am having trouble trying to find any transport (i.e. train or bus) to go back to the airport on the Sunday morning. I have looked on the train site and nothing is available on the Sunday morning? Does anyone know if buses etc run on a Sunday morning back to the airport.

If anyone could help it would be great because we have not got a lot of time before we go. Also I presume you can purchase train tickets from the airport and I know apparently that there are machines that you need to validate your ticket? If you go by bus you have to purchase the bus tickets from the tabacco shops? Please correct me if I am wrong I am just trying to find as much information as I can. I don't fancy the idea of being stranded and I don't know any italian! :o)

What airport are you talkng about, ???? there are many airports near by Ancona.!
On the trains , if did not see any options on www.trenitalia.it is because there is not train working at that time or because they are book up (which is almos impossible) or because you are looking for a early schedule. (Tray the last train leaving the night before you have to leave).

Let me know exactly what is you start point (what airport) and I will be glad to help you. I know well the train lines there. (By bus, is not a good idea, depend on waht airport are you talking about)

Hi thanks for the reply we are flying to Ancona Raffaello airport, I didn't realise that there was more than one airport (Ekkkkkkkkkk) I have a feeling no trains run on a Sunday morning so it will just have to be a taxi back to the airport. At least that way I will not get lost ha ha
