I am going there April of next year, I have never been before, can someone give me directions from town to a nice place to tent camp on the beach? any places close to showers or a bathroom?

When I was there about four years ago, there was a bunch of beach camping going on the peninsula west of town. I think you would not be allowed to do this on the beach east of town, where everything is luxury.
I tried parking my Vanagon for the night down the beach to the east (where I thought I was going to be isolated and left alone) but was told by private security within 10 minutes that it was private property. I spent that night on a quiet side street right in town.
