West End AKR in September
Posted: Sat July 26, 2003 10:38 PM UTC
We are off to Roatan again in September of 2004. This will be our 3rd trip this year and we are taking a few non-divers with us. Any idea where would be a good place to have them spend some time on the island while we are diving?

Is any one else going to be down there around the 20th of September? If so we can have a mini-VT meeting and a few drinks.

TinCan:

We are going to AKR first week in Feb. 2004. We booked a trip based on info from our local dive shop, but the info you have in your postings about Roatan have been wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to post. You should be on commission from the local Tourist Board since you have more info than some official sites. We feel we have a very good information on what to see & do before we get to Roatan.

Thanks for the comments about my Roatan pages.
We were going for the New Years but could not get a flight so now we are going in March.

I just realized that I had put 2004 on my last post... it should have read 2003. We took Dionosaurs Mother, Father, Aunt and uncle as well as a family friend and now we are land owners in Sandy Bay.

We have many friends at AKR and always look forward to seeing them.

Take a look at www.Roatanet.net for some good info on the islands and sign up for the Yahoo newsgroup for Roatan where you can chat with folks that live on the island and many friends of Roatan.

Enjoy your trip and say hello to Elder (one of the waiters) for me and Dionosaur.

Kieth:

Thanks again & have a happy New Year. Have already signed up on Yahoo & looked at out the Roatan pages. Will say hi for you .

Another question: We usually try to take some things local groups can use when we visit. We have taken books, clothing or some basic school supplies for in the past for local charties in other areas we visit.
I have found one listed in Roatan that wanted basic medicial supplies. (cold pills, Tyenol etc) any idea of some items we could take to donate? Or groups looking for things? I will post this question on other boards too & see if get any reply.

Hummm... I will be there on the 30th of September and will be at AKR.
AKR is our favorite place to stay and I feel is best value for the money.
This is our last trip to the resort as our new home will be done soon and it is just 1/4 mile down the beach from AKR.
You can look at my AKR pages and see for yourself what they have to offer.

Keith
PS... check out www.tinkan.com for other pictures of the island.
