The Hague One day at The Hague
Posted: Thu December 28, 2006 08:01 AM UTC
Hi!

I've been reading alot of VT Tips Regarding things to do in the Hague. There seems to be alot of places to see but I only have one day. Any suggestion on what are the must see places in the Hague as well as the order by which I should go so that I can save time walking around? I'll be coming from Amsterdam by train so I guess my starting pt is the central station.

Any help will be appreciated!

The Hague Visitors & Convention Bureau has several packages; some ideas are at:

http://www.holland.com/denhaag/gb/index.html?page=http://www.holland.com/denhaag/gb/cityguide/gettingaround/sightseeing/index.html

Better get a city walking tour map from the visitor bureau upon your arrival or upfront at info@denhaag.com.

The Tourist Information Office in The Hague is located next to the Big Café known as Dudok at Hofweg 1. Dudok is situated across from the Parliament Buildings, middle in the centre of The Hague.

Opening hoursMon.- Fri. 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m
Sat. 10.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.
Sun. 12.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

I am sure The Hague's main attractions could be seen in one day, most of them are located in the central part of the city. Famous Binnenhof is near of the train station, in 5 minutes by walk (the main station. there is Hollands Spoor Station as well that is situated a bit far from the center but in any way there is good connection with center by tram). I think you'd like to see Vredespalace as well, that is situated not in the center but i recommend you to go by feet there that you way will among the Noordeinde Palace.
I think that is good idea is to visit Schveningen to see Northern Sea shore. If i remeber rightly you need tram 9 from the center of the Hague and the way takes 20 minutes around (in any way, you may ask right tram number in the tram station).

in my opinion The Hague is not big city (though I live in the big city Moscow), thus I used transport seldom, most of time walking around. I used the tram that to come to The Hague from Scheveningen (my hotel was there)

My recommendation is to visit Madurodam. Then hop over to the Strand for a walk and a meal.

When you buy your Strippenkaart ask for a free map of the tram system. Note there are two train stations In Den Haag.

Does anybody know a link where I can find a map of The Hague with all the attractions and must see already plotted in it? I've found one for Paris but no such luck for the Hague.
