Hi there,
I'm coming to Nurnburg for the Toyfair in February 2007.
I've seacrched online but am unable to find the website to book a train ticket from Frankfurt airport to Nurnberg and back again a week later.
I would really appreciate any help with finding the correct website in English.
from other posts I know that I require an ICE train..

That's not a must. But nice ;-) And the fastest option. Albeit also the most expensive.

We recently made this trip for the Christkindlesmarkt taking the ICE from the airport and return. I got my train schedule/timetable from bahn.de They have an English version. Finding the train station at the airport can be a little confusing but look for a pamphlet called "Your Airport Guide" in English (and presumably other laguages) scattered throughout the airport. This has a map and helpful directions (also see frankfurt-airport.com). You might also inquire about seat reservations when buying your ticket. We didn't have reservations but were asked to move a couple of times by passengers who did have them. Tickets are not cheap - we paid about $110USD round trip per person. Before we left I raised the fare issue in the Frankfurt am Main forum and got some helpful advice. You might wamt to check that out.

go into deutschbahn.de and select international for English instructions. Type in Frankfurt Flughafen to Nuernberg hauptbahnhof and select the times that you want to travel. I,m fairly sure the train station is in terminal 1, leave yourself ample time as getting from your arrival gate to the train can be a long way. If you book a train return ticket committing yourself to a definite train it will a lot cheaper than 2 separate tickets, if you can,t do it online there is a german Rail office in the Frankfurt airport near the trains.

Do you arrive at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) or at (Frankfurt-)Hahn Airport (HHN)?

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e
From: FRA airport
To: Nuremberg
or directly to the fair grounds (Messe)
To: Nuernberg Messe

Sorry. Missed the 10 pm.

There is a Lufthansa flight at 22:05 to Nuremberg.
And an IC train at 22:01 to Nuremberg.
As these are the last flights/trains you won't make it.

But I've anyway the feeling that you mean the Rynair flight FR1954 arrival 21:45 in Hahn. There is a shuttle bus dep. at 22:15 to Mainz (23:20) and Frankfurt (00:15). 22:15 is feasible in Hahn.

http://www.bohr-omnibusse.de/AirportHahnFahrplan/busfahrplanFrankfurt.htm

I would recommend to stay in Mainz and travel from there next day to Nuremberg.

Hi there,

How long of a train trip is it from Frankfurt (Hahn) to Nurnberg, I can't get a flight on Friday 1st from Dublin

As I'm not paying for this trip would I be better getting a flight on Friday morning from Frankfurt.

Thank you

Hahn is in the opposite direction from Frankfurt as Nuremberg.
There are no trains to/from Hahn.
You have to use a shuttle bus to Frankfurt (see link in my previous answer) and train from Frankfurt to Nuremberg.

Obviously flying back from Frankfurt would be the better choice. Saves you the 1,75 hours bus trip to Hahn.

Hi!
Could you help us, please! This is our first trip to Nurnberg (Spielwarenmess). We are getting from Latvia (Riga) to Frankfurt Airport (Hahn) at 20.30 by Ryanair. Then we go to Frankfurt, stay here, next morning we are going to go by train to Nurnberg. But I cannot find information about any transportation Frankfurt-Nurnberg... Cuold you help me to find out about train tickets Frankfurt-Nurnberg. I have read the topics of this forum, but I do not see the answer to my question.

THANK YOU in advance!

Regards,
Julija

???
The answer was already in this thread.

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e
From: Frankfurt
To: Nuremberg
or directly to the fair grounds (Messe)
To: Messe, Nuernberg

With local trains it will be cheaper. Select at the DB timetable as means of transport "only local transport".
Sa or Su: Happy-Weekend-Ticket: EUR 33,00
Mo-Fr:
RMV ticket Frankfurt to Kahl (the first stop in Bavaria): EUR 6,60 per person
Bavaria Ticket for the rest: EUR 27,00

There are direct RE trains from Frankfurt to Nuremberg you can use with these tickets. The Happy-Weekend-Ticket and the Bavaria-Ticket are day tickets valid for up to 5 persons travelling together. Both cover also all local public transport in Nuremberg (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses).
You can buy all these tickets from ticket machines in Frankfurt.
You don't have to change or do anything else in Kahl. But the Bavaria Ticket is only valid past 9am on weekdays, thus departure in Kahl must be past 9am if you travel on a weekday.
