buying some cigs in jan to bring home 4 the year, does anyone know the best place in girona to get them??

Are tobbaconist open on sundays?

And whats the cheapest place to stay for 1 night

Hi Mate,

Just come back from Girona a few days ago where I went to pick up fags.
Since a law in spain was passed a year ago you can only by tobacco products
in official tobacco shops.
The tobacco shops are open 9.30-13.30 and 16.30-20.30 Monday to Friday
and 9.30-13.30 on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays.
All Cigarettes at all spanish airports are exactly 2.50 euro`s more for 200.
My advice to you is get a cheap ryanair flight to girona during the week if poss or if you are going at weekend make sure you can get to girona city before the tobacco shops close at 13.30 on Saturdays.
There are 4 or 5 tobacco shops in girona.
One is just around corner from train station.
There is another near the tourist infomation office.
You can pick up maps of girona at the tourist info desk.
There is a bus servive to girona which leaves every half hour and costs 3.70 euro`s return.
As for accomodation I stayed in a hostel which was not bad for 18 euro`s a night and included breakfast.
The hostel can be booked at www.reaj.com and is called "Cerveri de Girona"
Anyway try it out.

P.S. Do you know if Lambert and butler cigarettes are available in Riga Latvia ?

Are English cigs available in Girona city. Reason I ask is they're not easy to get in some spanish cities although readily available in resorts. Anyone know the official priceof Lambert in Tabacs. Anyone know the price in Portugal?

In spain all the Tabacs are closed sundays and halff day Saturday. there are some shops gift shops ect that also have a tobbaco licence. (Look for the yellow "Tabacs" logo on brown background. Some of these are open weekends but are usually found in resorts and even then may be closed weekends in winter. If you are looking for non spanish cigarettes these are not so readily available in cities, even Barcelona, Madrid and Seville.
If you are committed to your trip the only thing you can do is go to a large resort (LLoret or Blanes) and see if any giftshop/tabacs are open

All I know is that TABAC Augusti is recommended. Tel: 0034 972 20 64 74.
They speak good English.
This shop is near train/bus station.

alicante have a tabacs actually in the airport just before passport control it is a small outlet just to your right

For reference Lloret de Mar has at least 2 Tobacs open on sunday mornings and stock most UK ciggie brands especially for the tobacco runners!

The world airport guide says there is a newsagent/tobacconist in girona airport, if this is correct then surely it will open at weekends.
