| Perugia | Accommodation and Inexpensive Posted: Sun December 24, 2006 09:23 AM UTC
My wife and I will be staying in Perugia from May 12 and leaving May 16 for Ancona. We are looking for inexpensive accommodation for the four nights and a few inexpensive places to eat. We are retired Canadians and would appreciate any information.
Can anyone help? Thanks John |

Hi,
I've just come back from Perugia and I hope i can be useful for you. First of all about the accomodation: I had a bad experience in the "B&B Il cedro", so I'd like to advise you not to go there, you will find thousands of other places for sure. If you like pizza, I stayed in a very inexpensive place where pizza was great, I'm Italian and I think i tried thousands of places, that one was one of the best places I've ever been to, even if owned by a non italian man (looked like north african). It's in the main square (piazza IV novembre) at the right side of palazzo dei priori, in front of the cathedral. It's a small place and someone could not trust it, but I found it great. Unfortunately I don't remember the name but in the position I told you it's the only place where you can have pizza. Another place I liked is in "via volte della pace", a small alley that starts with some steps from Piazza Matteotti, its name is "la botte" and you can find typical dishes of the region. Another restaurant is "il mi' cocco", even if I couldn't try it, people i talked with spoke very well about it. It's near "arco etrusco", in Garibaldi street. You're better to call and to book a table in advance if you plan to try this one: it's a strange place where they close when they fisnish things to cook ;) Ok I wrote much but I hope you'll find all my words useful. Enjoy Perugia! Sergio
