Beijing Swissotel Macau Centre
Posted: Fri December 22, 2006 09:51 AM UTC
Has anyone stayed in the Swissotel at Macau Centre? I'd like to get some reviews - is it located conveniently to the major attractions (Forbidden City, Wangfujing etc) and what are service standards like?

Thanks.

There is a Swiss Hotel in Beijing, located about 3 miles from the Forbidden City, quite a walk! There are more conviniently located hotels within walking diestance to the Wanfujing area, Tianemen Square and Forbidden City, such as the one we used: The SongHe hotel, links on our pages.
There is (same chain) Swiss Hotel Macau Center which is in Hong Kong. Macau is actually in Hong Kong. Is this what you're referring to?

Thanks for your reply! The Swissotel Macau Centre is in Beijing. Is the Sonhe good value for money? Does it have a fitness centre with treadmills? I have a habit of going for a run first thing in the morning and I'm actually looking for a hotel with a good fitness centre.

Yes to it having a gym, and a sauna/massage center as well as a great restaurant (we thought).
The staff was delightful and extremely helpful as well.
For more information on it see here:

We booked through Asiarooms.com and got a great deal, I believe we paid about USD $60.00/night for the room (double and quite roomy), breakfast included.
