| County Galway | Cliffs of Moher Posted: Wed December 20, 2006 01:14 PM UTC
I am visiting County Galway in Febraury and I am really interested in visiting the Cliffs of Moher. I understand that there are bus tours that go to and from the cliffs. Would you be able to direct me to site that I can make reservations for a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher from Galway City? Any information regarding transportation to the Cliffs is much appreciated.

Can you rent a car? It's about a 1 hour drive (if you don't stop along the way) and it's not a bad drive. But with a bus tour, you come and go on their schedule. With a car, you can stop along the way at different places, like the Burren.
The cliffs are also very windy, hang on to your hat!

There are several companies which offer tours. Lally Tours, www.lallytours.com, is one of my favorites. There is also O'Neachtain Tours,www.oneachtaintours.com and Healy Tours, www.healytours.ie. They all offer a full day tour which takes you along the scenic route from Galway City south along Galway Bay and through Oranmore, Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan, Dun Guaire Castle, Kinvara, Ballyvaughan, Aillwee Caves, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Kilfenora, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna, Fanore and Blackhead.
If you want an express tour to see the Cliffs of Moher alone, Laly Tours has an express bus which drops you off at the Cliffs and picks you up in two hours. I would suggest that you take one of the full tours, as it will give you a delightful guided journey through the best that the area has to offer. It will definitely be windy and chilly on the Cliffs in February. I would suggest a tie down hat and that you be well layered for warmmth.
