hey there,
I was wondering if there are any cheap hotels or hostels really close by the "centre street". If so, how much??? I have an epic adventure in february and would love nice cheap SAFE(probably most important) accommodation...If no cheap places near the "centre Street", where are they? are they close enough to see all the site of Harbin! Hi, there are many cheap hotels in Harnbin, but seldom near centre street. It depends on how much you want to pay. 300 yuan is okay for a middle and convenient hotel, but the condition maybe is not very good.

How cheap is cheap? I've found quite acceptable 3-star hotels (private rooms with ensuite) for about 398 RMB/night.
BTW, the "centre street" is called Zhongyang Dajie! Just give the proper name to avoid everyone else trying to guess what you're referring to.
