Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Dresden currency exchange
Posted: Tue December 19, 2006 01:23 PM UTC
Hello all,
I am currently in Dresden. I came here from Thailand and still have a bunch of Thailand Baht in my pocket. With the Baht going down in value these last few days, I would like to change it over for Euro. Does anyone know somewhere in town that I can do this?

All help is appreciated

there is a "WECHSELSTUBE" in the main trainstation in dresden, but i am not shure that they will change thai bath. with the introduction of the euro there are not many places left that will exept anything else than US dollars, swiss francs and other major currencies. I personaly would ask in a thai (Asia) shop or Thai-restaurant in dresden, maybee they canhelp you with a adress.

Any bank will do that for you.
The only problem is - the buying rates for less common currencies are usually so low that if you are planning to go to Thailand again in the next 2-3 years you are probably still better off retaining the cash.

ReiseBank (literally: TravelBank) has a branch at the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station).
You can check on their homepage the rates they sell/buy Thailand Baht.

Thanks everyone. I managed to get it taken care of. The rates were bad, but at least not unexpected, and now I have money again.
