Your best bet would be to take the Tobago Express (airplane). www.tobagoexpress.com

There are now three inter island ferries between Trinidad and Tobago.
They are quite fast and the trip takes about 2.5 to 3hrs one way. They cost is also quite cheap, TT$50 one way and TT$100 return about US$15 return. The boats are also nice inside with cafes and bars, tv etc. You can check the port's website for the boat schedules http://www.patnt.com/ Hope this helps.
