I'm planning to go at winter 2007 for 1 week with my friends after graduating. We will be around 6 people. It will be my first time in the caribbeans. I would like to do snorkeling/scuba diving/parasailing. My swimming skill is very poor so does the place have good trainers? Where do you suggest me to go? How much did the whole trip cost to you? What shouldn't i miss? I don't want to be ruined.

Few years back we had gorgeous weather and went down to Key West around New Year's. Found out that there were jelly fish in the area - my son and other son's girlfriends got stung. The boat kept meat tenderizer, but it was a very painful experience. Not sure if these guys are all over ... but if they're around Key West, they may be in Nassau too ... so, so much for not being ruined - in a painful way! ;=)

As your first time visit to Carriben, my advise don't go to Bahama s- taht's the place in Carribvean which represent not only one of teh highest prices but as well one of poorest value for price ratio - you'll have to pay alot, but will get not so much satisfaction back. Nassau by itslef is rather overcrowded place with no beaches , except on adjourning Paradise island. If you go beyond that to other island then costs will rise even more and you'll need more time for connections.

Don't forget winetr is really high season at Carribean, so every more or less minimum comortable hotel charge few hunderds bucks for room only .

If your swimming skills are noit good, you nee dto go wher is low tide lagoon is. To stay within your budget flight+good hotel + extra expenses for water sports you can get good deal to Dominican Republic to Punta Cana. then you'll spend at the end less than your budget even if you stay in tehbest hotels liek Pardisus or Secrets.The last two hotels are 2-3 times more expensive than the rest, howevr facilties &service are definetly better, you'll spend around 1500-2000 USd on all inclusive hotel+flight, if you go from US. Then few hundreds on watersports.

If you wish to spend the whole budget to get more value, then look for other islands.
