| Arad | I NEED HELP ASAP ! Posted: Wed December 13, 2006 06:09 PM UTC
I'm gonna arive to Budapest - Ferihegy (Terminal 1) next week. Anyone can tell me how can I get from the Airport to a train station wich will allow me to travel to Arad? And please, anyone knows how much does it cost from the airport to the train station and how can I search for trains from Budapest To Arad, to see the times when they travel, price of tickets and so on ?
Thank you very much. |

Hi
from budapest airport [terminal 1] you have 2 bus line: 1. from Terminals 1 and 2 Bus 200 to Köbánya-Kispest metro terminal http://www.bkv.hu/busz/200.html 2. Bus 93 operates from Terminal 1 to Kőbánya-Kispest Metro Station http://www.bkv.hu/busz/93.html budapest metro map: http://www.hotelhungary.com/touristguide/pics/buda Kőbánya-Kispest Metro Station it's the "blue" (M3) Metro, from this station you need to go to "Budapest-Keleti pu" train station, for this you go with the "blue" (M3) Metro 10 statiom until "BLAHA LUJZA TER" station, then you get off from the train and look for "red" (M2) metro, you go with this line 3 station and you det off at "KELETI PALYAUDVAR" station. this is "KELETI PU" train station! the one-way [bus] through-ticket costs HUF 185 (50 cents) [210 HUF when buying on the bus from the driver]. and when you take the metro you pay 200 HUF or 300 HUF,I dont know for shure: on the budapest city transportation web the say: 1. Metro section ticket HUF 130 2. Metro section transfer ticket HUF 200 3. Metro transfer ticket HUF 300 you need 2 line of metro so you need transfer ticket but there is 2 kind of transfer ticket see [2and3]. more info: http://www.bkv.hu/angol/jegyek/index.html from "KELETI PU" train station I count 7 direct train to arad! to serch for trains times go to : http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?ld=2 about the price I am not shure but I think it's need to be around- 3500 - 5000 HUF [14-20 euro], I know that from budapest to one hungary city [Lőkösháza] near the border of romania [11 k"m far from the border] it's 2500-3000 HUF for second class, you can see at the hungary rail way - http://www.elvira.hu/ more info about romania at the romania tourism office web: www.romaniatourism.com all the best david I'm gonna arive to Budapest - Ferihegy (Terminal 1) next week. I've done this trip twice now and found the best method is to take a Zona taxi(they have a small stand outside terminal 2b) to Keleti rail station.Zona will give you a printed reciept with the price indicated ahead of time.Nice clean new cars and good fast service!! The cost was about $25 American. From Keleti you can get almost anywhere in Europe. The ticket office is up the big front steps just inside and to the right. Arad will take about 6 hrs and cost about $60 American. Pay for a Round trip First class ticket there in Keleti. Its worth the extra for sure. In first class you will prob. have a room to yourself.its well worth it...the locals dont take first class much so its much cleaner(if you plan on using the toilet on the train bring your own toilet paper!!!)...on your return from Keleti to Ferihegy dont take the taxi from th first guy yelling out a price...if you havent reserved with zona for a return trip....go out the front and around to the right ...haggle as you go and you will find someone to bring you to the airport for 2500 huf or so..its a regular outdoor auction! but the further you get from the front door of Keleti the cheaper it gets...Noroc! drum bun!
