Can anyone who has been on the Antarctic Dream cruise from Ushuaia to Antarctica please provide recommendations - for or against. My husband and I are in Ushuaia and trying to decide on a "last minute" cruise. We have been advised that Antarctic Dream - a young ship/company, Ushuaia and larger Quark ship are available around the 18th November. Any suggestions or comments?

Please read my other postings on this forum. I have written specifically about Antarctic Dream cruise. (Also a last minute deal recently - done 9-19th November 2006). In summary : GO GO GO!!! I had a FANTASTIC time - on board the ship, and during 2x daily ashore excursions. (After some 10months travel thru S.America - Antartica and Antarctic Dream experience way way ahead as the ultimate highlight ....) Perhaps you have doubts after reading some 'The Lady Doth Protest Too Much' scathing reviews posted by 'seastef' either here or elsewhere? I can only contradict her EVERY (numerous and neverending?) complaint (down to e.g. the number of hooks she saw fit to MIScount and carp about in lower berth cabins...?!) Hope you decide to go, and have as good a time as I did. If you go - send my love to the penguins, Captain Peter, Penny, Julio, Rene, Maria, John, Rodrigo, Eduardo et al lovely crew members you will no doubt meet.

My name is James. I am currently in Uruguay. I am very interested in what you and your husband are trying to do. I originally was trying to book a a cruise for mid to late November, like you. I thought about trying to do a last minute cruise but was told I wouldn't get that great of a deal. I found a deal for $1900 for a triple for a 10 day Cruise that goes December 14-24th. I would be interested in exchanging information with you regarding what you have learned as well as what I have learned. I would rather go in mid to late November, but if not I am going to need two other people to join me for my booking in December.
