Kanchanaburi Erawan Falls. Worth it ?
Posted: Mon December 11, 2006 06:58 PM UTC
Dear you all.
I will have a day tour with the guide Tong on january departing from BKK to visit Floating Market, Royal Articraft, Kanchanaburi , Tiger Temple and Erawan Falls.
She told me that to visit Erawan Falls we should skip some atractions during the way.
We are not interest in elephant ride (we will do it in Chiang Mai), not even in Monkey feed (we will do it in Bali), snake farms and while in Kanchanaburi just cross the bridge, visit the cementery, take some pictures and maybe ride on a boat, we dont want to ride on a train, then visit Erawan Falls (65 Km longer).
Do you think we should skip Erawan Falls and enjoy more things during the way ?
And how are the falls on january ?
Whic atractions do you suggest ?
For those who had a Tongs tour, which places she stoped on during the way ?
Thanks in advance
Fernando

We visited the falls in January a couple of years ago and enjoyed it as part of a day trip we organized through our hotel. It had been very dry when we were there so the falls wre not in full flow but still lovely and worth a visit. Super to swim in the pools at the foot of the falls.Great to see the monkeys in more natural surrounding, they did not come to you to be feed. I really can't remember what else we did on that day trip. We were only in Kanchanaburi for four days and we crammed an awful lot in to those four days so what we did when I can't quite remember.I know we visited the Tiger temple, went on the train, a boat ride, the falls, the cemetry, ate at a couple of local places, visited a monkey school ( not that good) I think it would be worth incorporating it in to a day trip.
