RE: Distance/means of reaching Easter island from Santiago? Posted: Sat December 9, 2006 12:48 PM UTC
Hi Darshan
When we went I seem to remember that the only airline flying to Easter Island was Lan Chile. It was a long flight - I think about ten hours. We bought it as part of a Star Alliance RTW flight, so couldn't tell you the cost.
Easter Island is amazing, well worth the long trek to get there! :-)

LAN Chile is the only airline to easter Island. Either from Santiago or from Tahiti. Both are about 5 hours flight.
We also reached Easter Island with a RTW ticket of 'oneworld'. But you could also check LAN Chile (www.lan.com), sometimes they do have special offers to Easter Island.
See my Easter Island page for more information.

Hi,
you`ll find most answers to your questions on LAN-Chile`s page, at http://www.lan.com/country_selector.html
as LAN is in fact the only airline going to Easter Island regularly. The flying-time is about 6,0 hours, normal fare around USD 870,-
Have fun, its worth the money !

One-way flight from Santiago is USD 319 with LAN Airpass. It is less if you arrive in South America be LAN. The quote is for passingers using other airlines (such as myself, going to Easter Island etc after Christmas). Visit www.lan.com.

The 'other airline' should be a member of the 'oneworld' alliance.

HI:
Wonder if you received information about flights to Easter Island? Saw there were 9 replies and didn't know if that information is available. We just want to make reservations ourselves, not on a tour, but find flight information impossible to get without going through a travel agency.
Thanks,
Lynn

Take a look at www.lan.com (the website of the only carrier to Easter Island).
Find tips about transportation on my Easter Island page.

Air fare for 1st class is only about $150 more r/t and it will allow you to use the very comfortable LAN VIP lounge in Santiago where you'll find free food and drink along with several computers with free internet. (Only available on the way TO E.I. and not on return leg). You also avoid the long check in line by using a private 1st class check in far away from the crowds.
Use Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity for an easy transaction to by the tickets.
