Yes..Jaipur is s good place for buying jwellery, especially for great craftmenship and traditional rajput designs. In india, gold jwellery is more popular and mostly available in showrroms. In my family we also buy jwellery from Jaipur, but its more of made to order kinda thing. Recently jewellery in white gold and platinum is getting popular but not a big hit with the indian local market. Jaipur is also an international hub of jewellery made using precious and semi-precious stones. Its normally a bulk market. and mainly for exports. good places to go in Jaipur are main showrooms, instead of touts or one-man show establishments. In showrooms, the total price comprises of cost(weight) of gold/white gold/platinum..and the cost of craftmenship. with each readymade piece of jewellery you have a paper tag with the weight and the cost of making. So its pretty transparent.... you can try JKJ Jewllers and Surana Jewllers in jaipur, both are famous for their fair dealings. While buying stones, its better if you know someone in the trade..however Zohari Bazar in the main jaipur city (walled city) is the main market for precious/semi-precious stones...a stroll will be useful..but again..avoid touts..As mentioned above, you can try government emporiums...but don't know about the quality of stuff. Coz, its very difficult for a normal lay man to understand the quality and know the vlaue ofthe stone. I think you'llbe able to get the charms for the bracelet.... let me know if u need more info.. cheers Vinay
