I am bringing my 11 year old daughter there next week. What is the safety situation like there now? Anyone have any direct knowledge? (I.e., there now or recently or know someone?) Thank you.

I am in Regular contact with friends in Nepal, I haven't been there since march this year but according to my friends Everything is fairly Calm now and I Wouldn't envisage any security problems travelling with your 11 year old daughter. I am Nepali and living in Kathmandu and I do write for my blog (http://www.asiainside.net). Things in Nepal have moved so smoothly and the security in nepal is very good, and there would be no problem for you to travel with your 11 year old daughter.
