Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Whistler Tickets

I am heading up the hills for the first time at the start or feb for 2 weeks.

Where is the best/cheapest place to buy tickets? My accomodation offers me discounted tickets - is this the best route to go down or is there somewhere to go that is cheaper than all others?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

If you are from BC or Washington, you can get an Edge Pass. You can check the prices at 7-11 in Vancouver and compare tou your accomodations rates

Hi and happy new year! Sorry to ride on this post! It's my first time too and I was wondering what's the cheapest way to get lift tickets other than EDGE for non Canadians? Thanks!

I just returned from 12 days in Vancouver. The 7-11 stores IN THE VANCOUVER METRO AREA (not Whistler) have adult tickets for about USD $58.60 (CAD 65.00 + tax). Yes, you must buy all your discounted 7-11 lift tickets in Vancouver before you drive up to Whistler, because they are not available in Whistler village. Call the 7-11 ahead of time because often the store may have sold out of lift tickets. I'm sure you won't be renting equipment but please note that Whistler's own brochures are incorrect in stating that 7-11 stores sell CAD $21 Whistler ski rental vouchers. These are no longer sold by Vancouver 7-11 stores.

Anyway the 7-11 lift ticket pricing is certainly cheaper than paying full retail for a lift ticket at Whistler (about CAD 90).

You should check if there are multi-day lift ticket discounts available online or through your Whistler hotel/resort that beat the 7-11 daily ticket price. I didn't look into that because my trip itinerary didn't allow me to ski 4 or 5 days straight.

If you have a car while staying in Whistler, my hot tip is to drive to and park in one of the day lots, such as Lot #6 at 8 AM when the lifts open because it is so convenient to walk just a few hundred yards and get right on the gondola. Then at the end of the day you just ski nearly right up to your car.

Oh, and YES I did conclude that Whistler-Blackcomb is the best skiing in North America!
