My self and my son,10 years, are proceeding on a two week holiday to Malaysia and Thailand. I would welcome suggestions and advice regarding where to go and stay during this trip - budget part is comfortable. My main objective is to see that my son enjoys it and me too have some fun on the side :). He is an active out door tyrpe of boy, likes action/sports.
I would appreciate adivce and suggestions in this regards.
Thanks

I suggest for you to go to One Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya. There's plenty of activities for your son such as the batting cages (baseball), rock climbing, bowling and more. About 10 minutes from there, there is this place called the Kota Damansara Community Forest Park. Its a reserved forest park and there's a jungle track for the visitors. If you could email me at zebramones@gmail.com, I will send you pictures of that place. As for accommodation, I suggest you visit this website, www.malaysia-bnb.com. Its about 3 minutes from One Utama.

Malaysia has lots to offer for both you and your kid. Starting from KL, you probably would like to bring him to Sunway Lagoon where he can enjoy all the rides in the theme park as well as the thematic pool with slides and stuffs. Also near KL, you may want to also consider Genting Highlands whereby the theme park will definitely attract him. Genting highlands is a cool nice place and kids will like it.

The Zoo and the Bird Park are quite interesting as well. Both are in KL.

In Selangor, not too far away from KL, you may want to bring him to see the fireflies in the evening. Usually, the trip will start in the late afternoom whereby you can have a nice seafood dinner before going to the fireflies place. You will amaze the kid when you see mangroves trees lighted up like Christmas trees by millions of fireflies.

Further up north, you may want to bring him to the Langkawi Island. It has lots to offer there. From nice beaches to island hopping to underwater aquarium and other places of interest just on this island.

How long will you be in Malaysia? The above will be sufficient should you be staying for say, a week.

Happy planning and enjoy!

Bee :)
