Has anyone stayed here? I would love to take my sister here on her birthday on February 1st .. But is it as good as it sounds? Rooms cold? Pls pls tell me more!

No, I've never STAYED in it but I have had a round tour of it and yes, it is as good as it sounds. See my Jukkasjärvi page for pictures. Those are from the polar winter in December when the light was fantastic but I'm sure February is also great - then the days are longer for possible excursions. It's a different world up there! I love it.

Sorry...I forgot...the rooms are -5. You sleep on a reindeer fell and are given special overalls. You're also woken up with a glass of hot lingon juice. You have to get up before a certain time as tourists come to look at the hotel during the day. Then you can spend that day doing different activities and in the bar drinking vodka from the famous ice glasses. Surreal. I also loved the different themes in each room. Was in one with a guitar :)))
