Annecy Travel Forum

I'll be staying in Annecy next summer and would like to visit nearby towns such as Yvoire, La Clusaz, and go to castles such as Menthon and Montrottier. Does anyone know of bus transportation serving these towns and sites from Annecy? I can't rent a car and have no means of transportation. If there is bus transportation, is there a website describing routes and prices?

Hi, you'll have no problem visiting local towns by bus/coach. Annecy's bus/coach station is adjacent to the town's train station where both buses and coaches depart for many towns. The services are very good and well priced. If you're staying in Annecy next summer, strongly suggest you take a bicycle with you (or buy one locally). The lake has cycle paths circumferencing most of the lake which makes for great cycle trips to Menthon, Veyrier etc, or for just getting around within town and outer areas.
