| Whistler | Season tickets and selling the remaining time left on them Posted: Tue November 28, 2006 10:25 AM UTC
I'm going to whistler on 3rd of jan for 5 weeks and the only way to be on the slopes for this period is to buy a season pass. I'm looking at getting the off-peak pass which means only being on the slopes during the week and not w/ends, however the pass will still be valid to the end of Apr and i was wondering if anyone knew about selling them on, is this possible? are there people who will buy this type of thing?
Thanks for any advice. |

Hello, your season ticket will be in the form of a credit card sized plastic pass, it has your details and a photograph so they are not transferable. It may be worth considering an express card, you pay initialy for the card and so many days, after that, your bank is debited whenever you use the card. You get a small discount this way. Try to give the staff an idea how many times in the 5 weeks you will want to go, thet are all well trained and will give you the most cost efficient pass. The express card can also be set up so that you can pay for meals in the mountain resteraunts, saves you carrying cash around up the hill, they just scan the card and it gets debited straight from your bank account. Best of luck with your trip, go up whistler mountain and head for the Harmony chair, take the ridge run down and you can drop off into some amazing bowls, takes your breath away. Try to hook up with some locals, they will take you places that you would never find on your own. All the best, Tim.

Hi, you have to buy express card from the main ticket office at the base of Whistler mountain, look out for signs saying "guest relations", they have digital cameras set up so no need to have your own picture. Normal day passes can be bought from desks around the base of both mountains. If you happen to lose your express card, make sure you tell them straight away so it can be cancelled for a new one, it can be used in some shops to buy goods. If you live in Canada I think the pass is a little cheaper, you will need proof of address/residency. Check out the Crystal lounge, underground bar where many of the local workers/seasoners hang out, you will get all the advice you need in there. Have fun!
