Belfast What I plan do in a day and do people thinks it possible
Posted: Sun November 26, 2006 07:16 PM UTC
We will be in belfast for the day we are coming by cruise ship we are arriving at around 8 in Morning and Leaving at 11 that night. What we are planning is get off the ship at around 9.30-10 and head into city centre and do the red open air tour bus and go to the W5 spending around 1-2 hours here. We then think we will go to the zoo and then hopefully fit in some shopping before heading back to the ship in the early evening probably around 7. Does anyone have any comments on this or suggestion. Further do people think that it will be possible for us to do this.

If you want to see the real Belfast, do a black cab tour. Well worth it

It is all possible, how lovely to come in from a cruise. I am not sure what date you are arriving, but do wrap up warm, it is pretty windy and chilly at the moment. I am heading back for the weekend, and was there last week and it was a might nippy, compared to life here in Spain. I think your cruise will come in near the Odyssey where W5 is located. The Zoo is fun as well at this time of year, you can get a bus there from the City Centre. When you are going to the City Centre, you will enjoy visiting the Continental Market in the grounds of the City Hall, with food and crafts from fun places. I hope you have a wonderful time.
People always recommend a visit to the crown bar, a traditional style pub opposite the Europa hotel. There are a lot of great coffee stops, and most shops are open to 9pm for late night shopping coming up to Christmas. You will even get a peek at Santa in Castle Court Shopping Centre. Enjoy!

Hi
You are very welcome to Northern Ireland! When will you be coming? What are your interests? I have to second the nomination of the Crown Saloon. It is my favourite pub in the world. Check out its website. (http://www.crownbar.com/). The architecture and ambiance is incredible.
I think the key to visiting it is to not go during busy times (evenings).
Have a great visit!

I definitely think that your plan is quite feasible. I would second the recommendation for taking the Black Cab Tour. It is an excellent experience and the most informative. I will also put in my vote for the Crown. I had one of the best steak I have ever had there. As was mentioned in the above post, evenings are crowded but we rarely wait long for a table. The architecture is indeed incredible.

If you are coming in the late spring, the blooming foliage will be stunning throughout Belfast.
