Parque Nacional del Iguazł Travelling with a baby.
Posted: Fri November 24, 2006 07:21 PM UTC
I'm visiting Buenos Aires for a wedding and will be there a couple of weeks. I am travelling with my wife and a 1 year old baby and looking for a side trip. We have travelled extensively, but never with a child.

Would Iguazu Falls be a side trip that I could do with a young child?

I plan to fly from Buenos Aires and am mostly concerned about avoiding extensive bus or truck rides with the little guy. I'm travelling with a car seat in tow, but assume that outside of the major cities I won't be able to use it?! If the drive isn't too long, a cab is possible an option?!

Any insight into this area would help.

Thanks,
Todd.

the airport is near the falls and you have hotels right by the falls too, so that should be possible to do.

You also could stay in one of the hotels in Puerto Iguazu or along the road to the town. Usinga taxi wouldn't be a problem and is very cheap in Argentina.
The airport is about 15 km's from town; so are the falls too.

You have been given good advice. Use the cab. When I was there I hired him for the day and it only cost me like $20.00 (1986) You should be able to cross over to the Brazilian side DURING THE DAY. They allowed us to do so DURING THE DAY, but when we tried at night it was a no go without a visa. It is a beautiful place. Take light rain gear, especially for the little guy. Have a great time.
