| West Java Province | Proper Attire for a Woman in Bandung Posted: Thu November 23, 2006 09:48 PM UTC
What would be the proper attire for a woman in Bandung? (I have just asked Simonyet, who was kind enough to reply to my initial questions, but I am a new member and not certain if the question was posted in the correct place on the site).
Many thanks, Aussiewife |

Dear Aussiewife,
The "normal" attire for a woman in Indonesia is clothes that cover breast & thigh. But for party or informal occasion, or in your apartment, or in a pub, of course you can wear a cloth that shows your skin more. Bikini is used only in the swimming pool or on the beach. If you visit an university and choose to wear a pants, please choose the long one (1/1). And no sandal in the campus. (Indonesian attire is normally more formal compare to "Western" attire.) Don't be so afraid to attain attention. Just from your skin or hair color, you're already attract attention, despite anything that you wear. & don't worry very much about the attire. You aren't bound to follow it. bule ... boleh. have a nice trip! autaze
