By train:
First a local train to Maastricht; from there an Intercity train to Amsterdam. Single fare 2nd class: Euro 27.70 Day retrun 2ns class: Euro 38.90 Website www.ns.nl PJ

I see that Pieter Jan give an answer already!!!
By train is the easiest way for going to Amsterdam!!! Or hire a car and drive by yourself to the capitol of Holland, then you see also a few other things of Holland then only cities and trainstations!!!
