| Ko Phi Phi Don | Book room in advance for Dec 30 - Jan 6 Posted: Tue November 21, 2006 05:26 PM UTC
I will be in the Phukey area/Ko Phi Phi Dec 30 - Jan 6th. Is is necessary to book a room in advance or can we find something when we get there? Not looking for a 5 star resort, but preferable something 3 starish, on the beach, bugalows preferred? Or, do you have any specifc recommendation for such a place.
Thanks |

Since it is a peak season 20 Dec -05 Jan in Thailand hotels in terms of prices, when they are even higher than 01 Nov - 01 Apr(May), then 3* at peak season would cost close to 5* at high season, and as general virtually 100% occupancy of all hotels in Thailand is reached around the New Year,so I guess that 3* hotels will be picked up first . Therefore I would highly suggest to book the accomodation now.

I've always found rooms everywhere in Thailand by just turning up, even during high season. But, definately more, variety and less hassle when booking in advance. Most likely cheaper too.

We've just come back from a stay at Phi Phi Hill hotel (at long beach). Excellent bungalows at 600BHT per night. The food in the restaurant at night is awesome (especially the fish!) as our the views...Friendly staff too...
It's on a hill funnily enough up lots of stairs but its worth it... http://www.phiphihill.com/index.htm
