Hi-
I am in Bs. As. with some friends all of december. During that time we would like to venture up to the falls and were wondering how far in advance we have to organise things?

I know we can book busses from retiro ok the day before or so, but do we need to book holtel much before-hand?

And can we book tours when we get there?

It shouldn't be any problem with waiting to book for Iguazu. The tours are readily available and can be booked and taken immediately. There are alot of accomodations in the area. If you have a particular place that you want to stay at, then book it ahead.
Even if you want to fly, there are last minute deals with LAN.

Yeah. Book the bus a day or so before. As for the falls, tours etc you can sort all that out when you arrive. A lot of people just walk round themselves, as the site is a ll very accessible.

Safari and boat trips you will find 'everywhere' in Puerto Iguazu. For a visit of the falls you don't need a guided tour. Transportation to and walking around in the national Park is no problem at all.

For accommodation it depends on the type of accommodation you want. I think for some hotels it would be necessary to book. We have been there last year (late November) and the two hotels we stayed were pretty busy.

December 8-9-10 will be a "long weekend" so if you plan to travel on those dates, book few days in advance... not just the day before... the same aplies for Xmas and NYE...
