Hi I have decided to visit Jiuzhaigou in mid-late August - I know it rains a bit there but is it very heavy non-stop rain like those in Hong Kong in August or just short, light showers? And what about Chengdu - how is the rainy season like in August? Many thanks!

I was there in mid Sept. It was perfect! If there was any rain, it must have been short while, cuz I didn't notice it nor did it affect my holiday.... :-)
