I just wanted to use this as an opportunity to recommend Haveli Inn Pal in Jodhpur.

I'm about to leave Jodhpur after a few day stay here and while this place isn't in the guide book (a referal from another traveller) it just has to be documented somewhere!

The staff here are amazing. So helpful, laid back and friendly. They were more than happy to help us out with simple things like finding adapters for our appliances, using the internet to upload pictures, using their phones to contact drivers and such - for free.

Also, I didn't get any suggestions, offers, or pushy staff trying to sell me a tour or anything else and they left me completely to my own devices, although they were always there to assist if I asked.

There's a rooftop restaurant with amazing views of the city and of the fort, the food is spectacular and the accomodation is first class for mid-range. Charming haveli refurbished. It has a very tuscan feel to it.

I felt that I had to write about this place because there's no mention of it anywhere - I've truly found a gem.

And the icing on the cake - a young, friendly, respectful and softly spoken young Michael Jackson look alike [in his earlier days]; one of the younger sons of the family who operate the business here. Find him if he's here. He's a star!

10/10.

Stayed there recently and can certainly endorse your recommendation. Great place, great food and great people. I went from there to the Shahi Palace in Jaisalmer, another hit.
