Can you ask your employer to change your category? In our case, my husband's initial classification was also labor(er?). He subsequently got upgraded by the company and he applied for a family visa for us.
But our visa took so long to come so he personally checked the status of our application at the Min. of Immigration. And he found out that his company failed to report his new status to the government, it was still labor, so visa was not being issued. He got it fixed eventually. hope this helps, and hope there are other options for you Cheers!
