hi virtual tourists
going to gambia in february 07. does anyone have info on scuba diving possibilities there ? we are going to stay at the corinthia atlantic hotel in banjul for two weeks . have not been able to find anything on the net so far , so any comments/advice would be good . thanks very much |

I don't remember seeing any scuba diving at all when we were in the Gambia.
Why don't you contact the Atlantic hotel or your local Gambian Embassy. Best of luck.

i a going to gambia eb been lookingfor scuba and have found several sites that say the water is not suitable for scuba but did not say why

It is probably because of the river that runs through the centre of The Gambia.
Diving near rivers is next to impossible because of all the silt that empties into the sea.
