howdy:
family[3 yr old, 14, and couple] going to Acuna for 1 or 2 nights. hotel san antonio? patio cafe w/ good food, cold beer? parking in US? activities aside from eating and drinking? we would love to stay out at night w/ kids and cocktails. we want to be safe, but not too close to Texas Tech students vomiting on the bar. is there a cool patio and a safe hotel? or should we sleep in the states and make it a day trip? we will be there nov 22 or so. thanks in advance b |

Acuna is a pretty small town. I don't know that there's really enough to do to occupy more than a day, especially with kids.
On the US side you can head out to Lake Amistad though, or maybe even Lost Maples.

Hotel San Antonio is your best bet for a place to stay. The rooms are pretty nice, and it has great parking. There are a couple of bars across the street where seedy things go on, but no one should bother you. Just head straight there as soon as you cross the bridge, park, and get you room.
As far as a patio bar, Pancho's doesn't have food, but has a few tables out front on the sidewalk that they serve you at. There's also a fancy place across the street. I don't remember the name of it, but it has outdoor seating, and they serve food. Either place is safe at night. Happy trails, Marc
