I am going to St. Lucia later this week and am concerned about getting from the airport to my hotel in Castries. I may take a taki if it is easier- the hotel quoted me $70-US, but I was hoping someone could tell me how to use the buses. I could use any advise out there. Thanks!

Taxis are very expensive on the island. But the local minibus network works well. You will have to take a taxi from the airport to the bus stop, tell the taxi driver you want to get the minibus to Castries he should drop you off on the South side of the airport on New Dock Road in Vieux Fort, this should cost around 15 EC$ or US$ 6.00. (The taxi drivers might try to tell you that there are no minibuses so they can drive you all the way and get more money). The bus route from Vieux Fort to Castries is route 2H and costs US$ 3.00 (EC$ 7.00) However, if you have more luggage which takes up other seat(s) the driver will charge you more.
Let me know which hotel you are going to so I can tell you if you need to stop on the way or get another bus from Castries. Enjoy!
