| Abuja | Any information or advice on Abuja sought!!! Thanks Posted: Sat November 11, 2006 02:54 PM UTC
I will be heading here to work in a few months. What is it like for small babies, is standard food/medical care available? I have a 6 month old baby. Is it ok for a white woman to walk around? Are there powercuts, if so how often?
Is there anything that those considering going should take into account? Advice needed badly. |

Hello,
Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. I have heard it is a far better place to stay than Lagos - if you are a foreigner. As most of the embassies are there. I know a bit about Lagos, and there the power cuts are really frequent. Very frequent indeed. From Europe it could be best to phone to Nigeria when it's late in the evening, like at around midnight. Internet is known, there are internet cafes but - well, as I said, I don't know if the powercut will spoil it all. (Make sure you are in a place that has its own generator for electricity). But I do like Nigeria. It's a very lively place. regards,Soili
