Newcastle upon Tyne 7 Irish lads heading to Newcastle...........
Posted: Thu November 9, 2006 05:45 PM UTC
Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get your help with something? ! I'm heading off to Newcastle on the 24th with six lunatics all of whom are single and looking to go where all the females frequent. As i'm very much in a relationship i'm unfortunately gonna be the bore but sure its meant to be a laugh anyway. We're staying in the Premier Inn in Quayside. Does anyone have any info on this place? I know its not meant to be too nice, but sure it'll do the job for seven lads. Also, dress code? Best places for the lads to erm, interact... !!! Nice one!

I am sure the Geordie experts will be along with more detailed advice, in the meantime I think it is safe to say that you will find what you are looking for right there on the Quayside.

The Premier Inn is on the quayside, good choice for the local area as you are in the centre of things. You will get a good reception dress code is normally short sleeved shirt or tea shirt, dress trousers some of the bars ban jeans so just leave them at the door!! If you wear a coat or hat and gloves we know you are a tourist The Premier isclose to all the bars and night clubs
and alot of happy deals on drinks

What nights are you staying let me know what type of bars, clubs required as all tastes are suited

The main focus of nightlife in the North-East is of course Newcastle City centre, however nearly every town in Geordieland has its own brand and excitement for visitors. In Newcastle the nightlife is unequalled anywhere in Europe and over recent years has become the envy of the world. It is truly a cosmopolitan and lavish experience anywhere in the City. There are areas that are most popular with locals and visitors alike, including, The Haymarket, Bigg Market, Dean Street and the Quayside of course. Even Jesmond is rapidly becoming the place to be seen in as yuppies flood the town every weekend.

Newcastle folk work hard and play hard, everyone knows this, and Newcastle is legendary for its pub, club and theatre scene. Being the birthplace of brown ale and Britain’s prettiest girls what else would one expect?

There are several distinct territories with regard to the watering holes of Newcastle though. Bigg Market is the rowdy stomping ground of the Geordie, where bonny lasses cavort almost naked even in the middle of winter. You just gotta have a drink or two in the ‘Blackie Boy’ to get to grips with the electric atmosphere around here. The upmarket Quayside with its designer pubs is where the ‘posers’ go, to clubs like the Crown Posada, The Tyne, and the Bridge.

Wander along the quayside to the Millennium Bridge and gawp at the wonder of technology whilst slaking your thirst ‘al fresco’ at the ‘Pitcher and Piano’. The fabulous Tuxedo Royale night-club floating under the Tyne Bridge is an example of the creativity and innovation of this city, with one of the dance floors of the huge club rotating as you cavort about, hopefully still in control of your equilibrium. If you wander across the famous ‘swing’ bridge to Tuxedo you may well pop in to Baja Beach Club and Buffalo Joes too.

For a bit of ‘In between’ there is an ideal club on the waters edge. Sea Club was the venue of Kylie’s private party when she appeared in Newcastle and the club is well worth a visit. Within yards The Cooperage is a 16th century-style pub on the Close. With hundreds of pubs to choose from it is difficult to single out only a few, so we suggest you follow the old axiom “When in Rome…” and do as the Geordies do… check them all out. The pub where the Gay and Lesbian crowd meet at The Village is on the corner of Waterloo and Sunderland in the Southwest part of the city, and their preferred nightclub is The Powerhouse in the same area.

The others have covered the bars however if you up out of bed before noon on Sunday 25th. Newcastle United are at home. The best prematch entertainment is to be had at City Vaults and Sam Jacks (top of Bigg Market) this is sure to clear your hangover with more beer more topless dancers more girls more football. Enjoy! It even has the famous geordie dancer.Your trip would be empty without this experience.
