| Amalfi | CinqueTerre and Amalfi coasts Posted: Thu November 2, 2006 04:03 PM UTC
We'll be in Italy first part of April 2007. We plan on 1 week on the Amalfi and 1 week in CinqueTerre. we invite advice and/or comments as to where to stay on a reasonable SENIORs budget, as well as to which sights not to miss!
We'll have a car for Amalfi, but will make do with our "Apostellic horses" for the 5 lands and hills around Vernazza! ThanX for any answers! StormP |

Hi - great spots to visit. For the Amalfi coast, with a car, highly recommend Positano. I don't know how senior your knees are, but even though Positano looks and is hilly, the walkways are gently sloped and the staircases are not long or steep, particularly on the east side of the village. There are a number of very decent 3 and 4 star hotels to choose from and dining is not expensive. With the car, you can visit Amalfi and especially Ravello - don't miss Ravello - where most attractions are easily accessed without steep climbs. And the ferry to Capri leaves from the center of Positano should you decide on a day trip. Check the many VT pages on these villages.

Davide doesn't contribute at all to VT and only comes to this site to promote his own business, which is located in SALERNO (note how he didn't mention that in his ad). Salerno is a DUMP- very industrial and poor. You definitely don't want to stay there.

Hi A day trip to Capri, a half day at Pompeii, just take a leisurely drive along the coast, stopping for an hour here and there
Good Luck
