I am visiting Jersey in October this year and would love to have some input on the most affordable places to stay. My main reason for visiting is to see the Jersey Zoo.

There are many guest houses which you could stay in. These are generally cheaper than the hotels - however in October there may be some special deals on. Take a look at this website www.jersey.com

As to Jersey Zoo - a fantastic place to see. It may not have the crowd pulling animals like elephants and giraffes but it does have a quality which I have not found in other zoo's.

Thanks very much - I will definitely look into the guest house thing. I am looking forward to seeing the zoo because I have been a long time fan of Gerald Durrell's books and they are what has motivated me to go to Jersey.

I am hoping for good weather but understand that cannot be guaranteed in October. Looking forward to this trip immensely!!!

PS I have been having a problem with unwanted and definitely unwritten by me SPAM messages getting to people on VT - many others have had the same problem - its some sort of virus within VT. If you get any weird e-mails apparently from me please ignore and delete and just know that I did not send them.

I can highly recommend The Pontac House Hotel in St Clement's Bay It is run by a lady called Anna Pinto.
It is well priced with friendly staff and very good food
they can provide car hire, or like me if you want to use the busses, it has a bus stop right outside the front of the hotelHave a good trip
