| Zermatt | ski bum in zermatt Posted: Mon October 30, 2006 10:02 PM UTC
I will be in zermatt from january 6 through february 3. I've booked an apartment in Haus Condor for the month. My plan is to meet up with some local riders and spend a major amont of my time there filming for a part in a snowboar movie. As your typical ski bum my buget is low and I've spent a good portion of it on the apartment. This is my situation. My questions are:
1) Are there any good riders planning to be in zermatt in january that might want to meet up and ride/film? 2) Does anyone have info on Haus Condor, or the district that it is in (Wiesti). 3) Can anyone advise me on how to survive on a low buget in zermatt? What are the grocery stores prices like? How much is a loaf of bead and a chunk of cheese? What are the cover charges at the clubs and how much is a beer? If any one has an Idea of how a ski bum can live for a month in zermatt I'd love to hear it. thanks, forrest |

If you want to experience snowboard culture in Switzerland, Zermatt is not quite the right place. Your best bet would be Flims-Laax area, considered as THE place for boarders.
The Migros or Coop prices are the same anyway. The skiing area is just as impressive as in Zermatt, the club scene is much more extensive. It is also a bit easier to survive on smaller budget, though not much...
