| Segovia | Segovia and El Escorial in one day? Posted: Mon October 30, 2006 01:35 PM UTC
Is it possible to tour Segovia and El Escorial in one day from Madrid?
Is there a bus going from El Escorial to Segovia? I'm thinking taking a bus to El Escorial in the morning, tour the palace from 10am to 1pm, leaving around 2pm for Segovia by bus or train and then going back to Madrid around 6pm. Would that be too rush? Thanks, Raymond |

I think you can do El Escorial in three hours.
But you would have about the same time for a visit to Segovia and that would be (in my opinion) not enough. Because there is alot to see in and around the town, like: - the aqueduct - the Roman Church of San Millan - Casa de los Picos - Roman church of San Roman - PLaza mayor - Cathedral of Segovia - Alcazar and outside the town - La Fuensica Church, Abbey Padres Carmelitas Descalzos and the Vera Cruz church I would recommend to spens a whole day, perhaps in combination with La Granja with its palace. happy travels Jaap

I think it is possible, but I would suggest a whole day for Segovia. Escorial is on the way to Avila, so you can visit the two in one day. I did not go in, just saw it from the train.
