Hi, I am in a dilemma as to where to live Mackay or Maryborough? Probably base my decision on a good public primary school big in sports and recreation. Also would like to live near a water inlet for my keen fisherman. Most likely an outer suburb as i have 2 cattle dogs and use to living on the land. If anyone can help would love to hear from you.

Maryborough is well located along the Eastern coast of Australia - and close (by Australian standards) to either Bargara (near Bundaberg), Woodgate (near Childers) and then back near Gympie is Tin Can Bay and Noosa Heads etc. Also only a few hours from Brisbane. These are quite different locations.

Maryborough is close to Hervey Bay which is about 1/2 drive .From there you can go across to Frazer Island fishing is excellent is this area My sister lives in Tinana a suburb of Maryborough and her children have done well at the local schools .I do not know about Mackay sorry

Der - I forgot to mention Harvey Bay! It really sounds like you are a person made to live in Maryborough! Cattle dogs and kids - and wanting to go fishing etc.
