| Distrito Federal | A cheap place to stay in Caracas? Posted: Sun October 29, 2006 12:33 AM UTC
Hey,
I am coming to Caracas in 2 weeks for a month or two and am looking for a place to stay. There are three of us coming from New Zealand, and we really have a very limited budget for accomodation (i.e less than US$150-200 per week between the three of us) Most of the places listed on this forum that I have seen are too expensive - Altamira is US$25per person per night.. Hopefully I'm not being totally innocent, but was wondering if there are any decent, cheap posadas, residencias, hosteles, albergues whatever.. in Caracas that aren't too expensive - we are starting to get a bit desperate at finding a place to stay! We have looked at they YMCA (does anyone know what this is like?) Ok if anyone could help we would be greatful! Thanks! |

Hello!
You can maybe find something at hotels in Sabana Grande. Caracas doesn't have cheap places to stay at all. This isn't a tourist friendly city, speaking about hotels... people are nice ;) The really bad thing is that you can't arrive late to your room because that zone in Caracas isn't safe at all. I have some friends who used to live there and got robbed several times. http://www.hoteles.com.ve/listados/caracas/sabana_grande/ The fee's are up to date. YMCA in Caracas doesn't provide accomodation. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for u.
